New York City!

New York City. My favourite place I’ve ever visited, when I was asked where I would like to go to celebrate my 21st there was no doubt in my mind, get me on a flight to NY! It was my third time visiting and I was still blown away by all the completely random and amazing things to see, there is never a dull moment! We shopped til’ we dropped (obviously), walked over Brooklyn Bridge, had a long picturesque walk around Central Park (my feet nearly fell off by the end of the walk), visited the zoo within Central Park and on our last night went to the ‘LOL Comedy Club’ on Times Square. If you are ever stuck for something to do at night in New York just go to the comedy club, you will not regret it! After one too many gin daiquiris in Bubba Gump (one ended up all over my dress…clumsiness and embarrassment at its finest), we headed to the comedy club and it was such a laugh! They had a range of comedians performing and each one was hilarious. I would definitely recommend going if you visit New York! Whilst we were in New York we stayed at the Empire Hotel, for all you Gossip Girl fans that’s Chuck Bass’s hotel! I was so excited thinking it would be amazing, when we arrived the whole hotel had suffered an electrical issue and so was in pitch darkness, with the New York fire department right outside with multiple news crews.

We didn’t end up getting checked into our room for 8 hours after our initial arrival, which was fine because we were excited to see our room and see how luxurious it was but when we got to the room we found that it was a size of a shoe box which is not really ideal for three people to stay in, there wasn’t even a proper wardrobe! How are three women meant to cope with no wardrobe?! So, if you are considering staying at the Empire because you are a GG fan, I would strongly discourage it, just head up to the rooftop bar that is open to the general public instead and order yourself a ‘Chuck Bass’ cocktail.

Even posting this blog about the trip is making me want to jump back on a plane and go back, I would live there if I could. So if any New York magazine editors happen to stumble across this blog please give me a job, I would be incredibly grateful!
